Restaurant credit card processing that keeps up with the dinner rush.

Restaurant credit card processing has more moving parts than most businesses: cards at the table, tips added after the swipe, catering orders off-site and several locations to reconcile. We set it up around how your restaurant actually runs.

Where restaurant card costs leak

Restaurants run on thin margins, and small processing problems repeat hundreds of times a night. These are the patterns we see on restaurant statements, and how we handle them.

What you often find

  • Cards carried to the back, out of the guest’s sight
  • Tips keyed wrong or adjusted after the batch closes
  • A separate processor just for catering and events
  • Each location on its own account with its own report
  • A POS bundle that ties your rate to the software

At PayZoom

  • Pay-at-table terminals so the card stays with the guest
  • Tip adjust set up to close cleanly with each batch
  • Wireless terminals for catering on the same account
  • One tool and one login across all your locations
  • Processing fitted to your POS, with our margin shown

How restaurant payments fit together

A restaurant setup works when three pieces line up: where the card is taken, how tips are handled and how the money is reported. Get those right and closing out gets faster.

Where you take the card

Counter, table, drive-thru, catering site or online. Each gets the right terminal or connection.

How tips are handled

Tips entered at the table or adjusted before the batch closes, so the deposit matches the tickets.

How it is reported

Every location and channel in one view, so the books reconcile without a spreadsheet.

The PayZoom Statement Review

  1. Send. Email us one recent processing statement.
  2. Read. We line-item every fee and separate what the card networks charge from what your processor keeps.
  3. Recommend. You get a plain-English answer. If you are already paying a fair price, we will tell you.
  4. Switch. If you move to PayZoom, we set up processing to fit your POS, gateway or cart.

Having one tool and one log-in for all of our locations was extremely helpful.

Questions merchants ask us

Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and a real person will answer it.

How does tip adjust work in restaurant processing?

The card is authorized for the meal total, and the server adds the tip before the batch is sent at the end of the shift. The final amount then settles with the tip included. Card-brand rules limit how far a tip can move the original amount, so we set your terminals or POS to handle adjustments cleanly and flag anything unusual.

Do you offer pay-at-the-table terminals?

Yes. Wireless and handheld terminals let servers take payment at the table, so the card never leaves the guest’s sight. Guests can tip on the screen, tap a contactless card or phone, and get a printed or emailed receipt. We help you choose models that work with your POS and the size of your dining room.

Can catering and events run on the same account?

Yes. Many restaurants use a mobile terminal for catering, food trucks and outside events. Running those sales through the same account keeps your reporting in one place and avoids a second set of fees. We set up the wireless terminal with the same pricing and deposit schedule as your restaurant.

We have several locations. Can we see them all in one place?

Yes. We set up multi-location reporting so you can see each store and the whole group from one login. That makes it easier to reconcile deposits, compare locations and spot problems early. Franchise groups and growing chains use this to keep processing simple as they add stores.

Do I have to change my restaurant POS?

Usually not. We don’t sell a proprietary POS, so we set up processing to fit the system you already use where it is supported. If you are shopping for a new POS anyway, we can tell you what to look for. Send us a statement first and we will show you what you pay today.

Send us one statement. We’ll tell you exactly what you’re paying.

No cost and no pressure. If your current rate is fair, we’ll say so. We typically reply the same business day.
