PCI compliance help from people who answer the phone.
PCI compliance help means a person who walks you through the card-security rules instead of fining you for missing them. Many processors charge a monthly non-compliance fee. We don’t. We help you get compliant and stay that way.

How PCI turns into a monthly charge
PCI DSS is the card industry’s security standard. It protects your customers, and it matters. The way many processors handle it, though, mostly protects their revenue. Here is what we see.
What you often find
- A “non-compliance” fee added to your statement every month
- A login to a portal and no one to explain the questions
- Merchants unsure which questionnaire applies to them
- Card numbers written down or stored where they shouldn’t be
- Finding out about a failed scan from a new fee
At PayZoom
- No non-compliance fees, ever
- A person who walks through the questionnaire with you
- Help choosing the right questionnaire for how you take cards
- Setup advice that keeps card data out of your systems
- PCI audits and PCI insurance available when you need them
How PCI compliance works for a merchant
PCI compliance is not a one-time certificate. It is a yearly routine. For most small and mid-size merchants, it comes down to three steps.
Know your setup
How you take cards decides which self-assessment questionnaire (SAQ) applies to you.
Answer and scan
Complete the questionnaire and, if your setup requires it, pass regular network scans.
Keep it current
Repeat yearly and update when your equipment or checkout changes. We help at each step.
The PayZoom Statement Review
- Send. Email us one recent processing statement.
- Read. We line-item every fee and separate what the card networks charge from what your processor keeps.
- Recommend. You get a plain-English answer. If you are already paying a fair price, we will tell you.
- Switch. If you move to PayZoom, we set up processing to fit your POS, gateway or cart.
Not only did PayZoom lower our costs, they analyzed our internal processes and made recommendations to improve workflow and provided new equipment so we could capture electronic payments at all points in the hospital and at off-site locations.

Questions merchants ask us
Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and a real person will answer it.
What is PCI compliance?
PCI DSS, the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard, is a set of security rules from the major card brands for any business that takes cards. It covers how card data is handled, stored and sent. Most small merchants show compliance by completing a yearly self-assessment questionnaire, and some also need regular network scans.
Why don’t you charge a non-compliance fee?
Because a monthly fee doesn’t make anyone more secure. Many processors charge it when the paperwork isn’t done, and it becomes steady income for them. We would rather help you finish the questionnaire and fix the gaps. It is part of how we work with every merchant, and it is one less line on your statement.
Which PCI questionnaire do I need?
It depends on how you accept cards: a standalone terminal, a POS system, an online store that sends customers to a hosted payment page, or one that collects card data on its own pages. Each points to a different self-assessment questionnaire. Our SAQ types guide lays them out, and we help you pick.
What are PCI audits and PCI insurance?
A PCI audit is a deeper review of how your business handles card data, often useful for larger merchants or after a change in setup. PCI insurance helps cover certain costs if card data is compromised, subject to the policy terms. We offer both. We will tell you plainly whether your business needs either.
Does a chip or tap terminal make me PCI compliant?
It helps, but it isn’t the whole picture. Chip and contactless payments reduce certain fraud, and encrypted terminals limit where card data travels. You still need to complete your questionnaire, protect your network and keep card numbers off paper. We look at your full setup, not just the device on the counter.
Send us one statement. We’ll tell you exactly what you’re paying.
No cost and no pressure. If your current rate is fair, we’ll say so. We typically reply the same business day.
