Nonprofit credit card processing that lets more of each gift through.
Nonprofit credit card processing should keep as much of every donation as possible working for your mission. Online gifts, monthly donors, galas and auctions each need a different setup, and every fee comes out of money people gave for a cause.
How supporters give
| Online gifts | Donation page or gateway |
| Monthly donors | Recurring billing |
| Galas and auctions | Mobile terminals |
| Larger gifts | ACH |
| Pricing | Margin shown, in writing |
Some card brands offer charity interchange programs. Eligibility rules apply.
Where donations leak away
Nonprofits often end up on whatever processor came with their donation software, and nobody reads the statement. Here is what we see, and what we do instead.
What you often find
- A flat rate on every gift, with no look at real costs
- Monthly donors who lapse when a card expires
- Event payments on a borrowed phone app
- Large gifts charged to cards when ACH would cost less
- No one checking charity programs from the card brands
At PayZoom
- Interchange passed at cost with our margin on its own line
- Recurring gifts on stored, tokenized payment details
- Mobile terminals for galas, auctions and walks
- ACH offered for larger and recurring gifts
- We check whether your gifts qualify for charity rates
How nonprofit giving comes together
Most organizations raise money three ways. Each one needs its own setup, and all three should report to the same place.
Online giving
A secure donation page or gateway on your website, for one-time and monthly gifts.
Event giving
Mobile terminals for galas, auctions, walks and in-person drives.
Lower-cost giving
ACH for larger and recurring gifts, plus a review of charity interchange eligibility.
The PayZoom Statement Review
- Send. Email us one recent processing statement.
- Read. We line-item every fee and separate what the card networks charge from what your processor keeps.
- Recommend. You get a plain-English answer. If you are already paying a fair price, we will tell you.
- Switch. If you move to PayZoom, we set up processing to fit your POS, gateway or cart.
Not only did PayZoom lower our costs, they analyzed our internal processes and made recommendations to improve workflow and provided new equipment so we could capture electronic payments at all points in the hospital and at off-site locations.

Questions merchants ask us
Straight answers. If yours is not here, call us and a real person will answer it.
Are there lower card rates for charities?
Some card brands offer special interchange programs for qualifying charities, but eligibility rules apply and the programs change. Whether you qualify depends on your registration and how the account is set up. We look at your statement and your setup, and check whether your donations are getting the rates they are eligible for.
How do recurring donations work?
A donor gives permission to charge a card or bank account on a schedule, usually monthly. The payment details are stored securely as a token, not in a spreadsheet. We set up recurring billing so gifts run on time, and we help you plan for expired cards so monthly donors don’t quietly lapse.
Can we take cards at our gala or auction?
Yes. Mobile and wireless terminals let you take card payments for tickets, auction items and on-the-spot gifts anywhere in the room. Those sales run through the same account as your online gifts, so your finance team sees everything in one place. We help you pick equipment that fits the size of the event.
Should we offer ACH for donations?
For larger and recurring gifts, ACH usually costs less than a card. Some donors prefer it too, especially for monthly giving. Offering both lets donors choose, and lets more of each gift reach your programs. We can set up ACH alongside card processing on the same relationship.
Do you work with churches and ministries?
Yes. Churches and ministries are nonprofits too, and PayZoom supports several ministry partners of its own. Churches often need online giving, recurring tithes and event payments, which is the same setup as other nonprofits. Send us a recent statement and we will show you what you pay today.
Send us one statement. We’ll tell you exactly what you’re paying.
No cost and no pressure. If your current rate is fair, we’ll say so. We typically reply the same business day.
